While in Seminary David worked as Minister for Urban Outreach at Christ’s Presbyterian Church in South Philadelphia. He also worked for the Asian American Youth Association serving the immigrant community and as a Counselor at George Wharton Pepper Middle School. He graduated from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary with an MDiv in 1995.
Rev. David started and led the Evangelical Union of Students while studying at St. Joseph’s College in Darjeeling in India, and was encouraged by his friends and mentors to consider going to seminary and entering into full-time ministry.
Rev. David originally hails from Mizoram in North East India. His parents now retired were Baptist Missionaries in Tezpur, Assam in India. He has three sisters and one brother.
The congregation finds Rev. David’s background very interesting, loves his strong faith and how personable he is. Rev. Chhangte is enjoying the opportunity to be a pastor in a suburban location and likes the area we reside in. He is already an active member of the Spencerport Ecumenical Ministers group.
